The Cluster Munition Coalition (CMC) is an international civil society campaign working to eradicate cluster munitions, prevent further casualties from these weapons and put an end for all time to the suffering they cause.
Co-founded by Handicap International in 2003, the Coalition works through its members to change the policy and practice of governments and organisations towards these aims and raise awareness of the problem amongst the public.
The CMC is made up of around 350 member organisations working in some 90 countries. This network includes large international NGOs like Handicap International, as well as smaller nationally-based organisations.
The CMC works in partnership with governments, international organisations, survivors, their families and communities and other actors to communicate the suffering from cluster munitions and advocate for an end to this suffering through changes to policy and practice around the world
Among other things it has mobilized support for the cluster munitions ban worldwide in which an increasing number of participants have taken action.
