Lobbying at a national level
Since the launch of its Ban Cluster Bombs campaign in 2003, Handicap International UK worked tirelessly to inform and change the UK Government’s policy on cluster munitions.
In February 2007 the UK joined 45 other states when it signed onto the Oslo process, working towards an international ban on cluster munitions. On 4 May 2010, the United Kingdom, formerly a major producer and stockpiler of cluster munitions, ratified the Convention on Cluster Munitions, agreeing to destroy its stockpiles by August 2018.
