The Ban Advocates are a group of women and men who have been directly affected by cluster munitions. They come from various parts of the work and are either victims or relatives of those who have died. United by a common cause to ban all cluster munitions and to ensure that rights of survivors and affected communities. They advocate a ban on cluster munitions and destruction of the remaining stockpiles. Having overcome their injuries and trauma, they know full well what impact these weapons can have.
They took a central role in the negotiations of the Convention on Cluster Munitions. In large degree their mission has been to ensure that the Convention will concretely improve the lives of people whose suffering has been caused by cluster munitions.
